This morning we enjoyed a festive “Reindeer Games” workout beginning with 2-lines (reindeer side-by-side) jogging warmup, including high knees, skipping, lunges with a twist and grapevine hallelujahs.
Station 1: PAX began a “reindeer filling Santa’s sleigh with presents station”. PAX were given a pipe cleaner and then grabbed a bow (representing a present) from a pile and did partner suicides until they reached the laundry basket “sleigh” and delivered their present. For each present delivered, they picked up a jingle bell to put on their pipe cleaner to power up their Christmas spirit! Then they did a jog around a mini-pickle and completed a “waiting” exercise until the group ahead had finished delivering their present. Waiting exercises included LBCs, plank hold, bicycle crunches, tinsel twists (American hammers), plank jacks, imperial walkers, dips, and glute bridges.
Station 2: “Visiting the 7 continents all in one night” – PAX completed partner exercises listed on each side of a notecard at 7 different “continents”. For each continent completed, they collected another jingle bell for their bracelet, and the merriment grew alongside their hard work! Exercises included 25 “Mistletoe” touches, 15 donkey kicks, 25 high knees, 25 burpees, 50 jumping jacks, 15 mountain climbers, 25 squats, 20 push-ups, 10 snow angels on back and 10 on belly, 10 “Been a Good” big girl sit-ups with cross, punch the abominable snowman, 25 skaters and 15 hail Mary’s.
We finished with some brief stretching. We named an FNG “Pico!” – welcome Pico! And finally the COT was to shake and hear the jingle bell bracelets, then cover and hold the jingle bells and ring them and hear the difference in sound. This is a metaphor for how we as women and mothers take on a lot around this time of year, but to remind ourselves that not everything has to be perfect and even the little things we do can bring so much joy to our families. Remember to let go of the stress and let our Christmas spirit ring like the jingle bells. Also, each of the bells collected signify all the hard work we put in this morning. It was a great time!
