It’s my birthday!! And of course I had to start my day off with FiA 🙂
I started with the disclaimer & typical warm up (good mornings, inchworm walkouts, world’s greatest stretch). To continue our warm up, we learned an abbreviated dance to *NSYNC’s Bye Bye Bye (since *NSYNC is back together!!) – including ‘boy bands’ and of course the ‘bye bye bye’ move. This was a ton of fun (check out the videos on slack or instagram!)
After warming up, we moseyed over to the office building at the corner of Salem & Hunter St. We split into 3 groups, 1 group doing the stairs & running around the building and the other 2 groups doing different exercises written on cards. We completed 2 rounds –
Round 1: Stairs group – up the stairs, lunge walk across balcony, down the other stairs, jog around the building, group 2 – monkey humpers, group 3 – tricep dips
Round 2 – Stairs group – up the stairs, bear crawl across balcony, down the other stairs, jog around the building, group 2 – elevated calf raises, group 3 – pushups
Somehow it was already 6 am after 2 rounds of fun so we headed back to the park for some ring of fire abs – we did 3 rounds: hold plank & each person does 5 hard count shoulder taps, raggedy Anns while each person does 5 hard count imperial walkers, and hold boat pose while each person does 5 hard count american hammers.
As icing on the cake, we did 5 rounds (using the number 5) of ‘ring of fireworks’ (one of my favorites) – all pax hold squat and we go around the circle with each pax doing a star jump and once we reach 5, everyone does a burpee. We all did 5 burpees and made a couple laps around the circle with star jumps.
We finished with COT and name-o-rama. COT – “Today is the oldest you have been and also the youngest you will ever be. Make the most of it.”
Thanks for joining me – and on my birthday! You all made me feel extra special this morning 🙂
