Started with your standard disclaimer and did a 5-minute warm-up, including head-rolls, shoulder rolls, potato diggers (or cherry pickers), toy soldiers, arm circles forward/back, and inchworms to world’s greatest stretch/both sides followed by five-inch worms on your own.
The Thang:
I wanted to switch things up a bit and use bands. We partnered up for a dora with bands. Looked like this:
100 Glute Bridge (band around thighs, hold bridge, and open and close legs = 1)
200 Squats with bands above the knee/thigh
300 leg pulses back (band around ankles) 150 on each leg
After the Dora we worked our upper body with 7 exercises/7 reps/7 rounds
- elbows @ 90 degrees, pull wrists away for away for 7 reps (bands around wrists for this entire sequence)
- arms straight out, pull wrists away for 7
- arms straight out /diagonal pull apart L for 7
- arms straight out/diagonal pull apart R for 7
- arms straight overhead, pull apart for 7
- hold a plank with bands around the wrist and tap 7 on the Right and then 7 on Left
You would think it wouldn’t be that difficult but we were hurting after the first round. It took a lot of encouragement to finish.
We finished with abs on our mats:
10 ankle biters
20 big girl situps
30 LBC
Bands don’t look hard but my goodness, I was already sore when I got in the car. We finished up with COT:
“You will always be too much of something for someone: too big, too loud, too soft, too edgy. If you round out your edges, you lose your edge. Apologize for mistakes. Apologize for unintentionally hurting someone. But don’t apologize for being who you are.” – Danielle Laporte
Then we named our FNG – Welcome Bella! with Namarama
