After a quick warm up and disclaimer we got right into the workout. It was a series of two tabatas 40/20 four rounds of each exercise.

Tabata 1:

reverse lunge to a kick left

4 dips to one elevated push up

reverse lunge to a kick right

burpees

We walked the pickle for recovery.

Tabata 2:

lateral squat walk with a jump

Up-up down-downs

squat jacks

Mountain climbers

That brought us to a close and I shared a quote from a book I’m reading. I paraphrased, but this was the full quote:

”…I ask you right here to agree with me that a scar is never ugly. That is what the scar maker wants us to think. But you and I, we must make an agreement to defy them. We must see all scars as beauty. Okay? …Because take it from me, a scar does not form on the dying. A scar means, I survived.” Little Bee by Chris Cleave

Take from that what you want. But my take away was not to waste the scars of life when there is a glory story to be told.
