What a fun morning in the downtown Cary Christmas lights!  Started with the disclaimer and proceeded with our warm up – some good mornings, some ‘icicle’ inchworms (followed by some downward dog stretches), then some moves in cadence – first toy soldiers, then ‘jolly’ jumping jacks.  We then did some ‘winter’ walking lunges towards the end of the old library site lot and began a mosey towards the Fidelity Bank circle at the corner of Academy St & Chatham.

On our way, we stopped at the polar bear lights and did 25 ‘melting snowmen’ (Raggedy Anns) and 25 ‘lords-a-leaping lateral bounds’ (skaters), then regrouped and made our way to the Fidelity Bank circle with a huge Christmas ornament light!

We did a round of 7s, running around the circle between moves.  Move #1 was ‘cookie-crushing’ Carolina dry docks, and move #2 was ‘forget the fruitcake’ froggers.

Then, we counted off into 4 groups.  1 group at a time ran a lap around the building while the other groups did an exercise.  Each round, we switched the exercise.  The exercises were: ‘snowflake’ step ups, ‘santa’ sumo squat jumps, ‘trim the tree’ tricep dips combo with ‘plum pudding’ pushups, and ‘sparkling’ sparky crabs.

Then we were off moseying back towards the old library site – and we stopped along the way to regroup at the fountain.  At the fountain, we did 25 (hard count) ‘dancing lady’ curtsy lunges and 25 ‘snow angel’ star jumps.

Upon arriving back at the old library site, we did 25 ‘reindeer kicks’ on the left side (donkey kicks), 25 mountain climbers ‘up the chimney’, and then 25 ‘reindeer kicks’ on the right side.

Lastly, we did a few rounds of 30 seconds each of ab exercises – including: ‘tinsel twists’ (american hammers), ‘candy cane crunches’ (LBCs), ‘peppermint plank twists’ (brooke burkes), and ‘roasting chestnuts’ reach through side planks (on each side).

Thank you for joining me for a fun time and indulging my renaming of exercises – what fun it was to play in downtown Cary with the Christmas lights!  🙂
