COT: Holy Week email from Hope Community Church:

On that first Palm Sunday, the crowds welcomed Jesus with celebration and shouts of “Hosanna”—“God saves!” They expected a king who would conquer their circumstances. But Jesus came as a different kind of King, humble, riding on a donkey, and moving steadily toward the cross.  While the crowd celebrated, Jesus already knew what was ahead.  He didn’t come to defeat earthly enemies. He came to defeat sin, fear, shame, and the brokenness within us. He wasn’t surprised by the cross. He chose it. And He chose it for one reason: love.

Scripture tells us that “for the joy set before Him, He endured the cross.” That joy was being with you and restoring what was broken so nothing could separate you from Him again.

This is the invitation of Holy Week:
To see Jesus not as we expect Him to be, but as He truly is:
A Savior who meets us in our pain,
Walks with us in our struggles,
And loves us more deeply than we can imagine.

No matter what you’re carrying today, whether it’s joy, anxiety, weariness, or questions, Jesus is with you. Because of the cross, we never walk alone.
